Great Auclum, six miles south of Reading, Berkshire, staged speed trials and hillclimbs between 1938 and 1974. Hillclimbing is the branch of motor sport where drivers compete against each other on a tarmac track one at a time. The British Hillclimb Championship is the longest continuous championship staged in the UK.
